Integration of parcel dispatch systems into SAP R/3 processes
The ready-to-use interface /Connector VSI enables the seamless exchange of data between R/3 and external shipping systems.
The use of the packing or dispatch components of the SAP R/3-Moduls SD is connected in most cases with the uses of a full or semi-automatic external dispatch system and the components integrated into this system such as label printers, barcode readers or scales.
These computer-controlled dispatching systems serve the purpose of weighing the packed parcels, addressing and postmarking them, in order words, getting them ready for dispatch.
Without such a system, the data that the system requires, such as address data, has to be retrieved from R/3 by the user and then added to the dispatch system manually.
