ORTEC Academy has developed an e-learning program for HARMONY, the workforce scheduling solution from ORTEC. Users of this new training method can learn online how to make the most of the duty roster system. Zorggroep Noorderbreedte will be the first client to utilize this training opportunity. The program will be used by approximately 150 to 200 users within the organization.

Savings on training costs

“Correct use of e-learning provides an organization with a number of advantages, such as higher-quality scheduling, considerable savings on training costs, and even more importantly, improved product use. Moreover, it ensures that all planners are kept up to date with the developments in their field, and that the organization always has access to the most recent study material,” said ORTEC Academy’s head of training, Kier van der Wal.

ORTEC Academy provides the courses in convenient modules with varying durations of 8 to 30 minutes. The majority of modules are concluded with a test. Using an LMS (Learning Management System) allows insight into the progress of course participants.

Golden market

“This is a golden market,” said Zorggroep Noorderbreedte Functional Administrator, Leo Koenders. “This online training method is in high demand in the healthcare sector, which is logical. Especially given that insight into the quality of healthcare and the associated costs is becoming a higher level demand.

At your own pace

Learning HARMONY via this method is interesting not only for planners but for the budgeting staff as well. “The advantage is that participants can learn to use HARMONY at any time or location, at their own pace,” added Project Manager, Joke Kuperus. “Once everything is up and running, it will certainly enable us to save time.”

Hospital and geriatric care

Zorggroep Noorderbreedte provides hospital senior citizen care services to the population of Friesland. The hospital care is provided at Medisch Centrum Leeuwarden and Medisch Centrum Harlingen, while elderly citizens receive care at twelve centers across Noord-Friesland. In addition, Zorggroep Noorderbreedte also provides geriatric care on a smaller scale by means of neighborhood and village centers, the Noorderbreedte Thuiszorg homecare division and the service organization, Nynke.
