Basic Chemical Solutions Deploys ORTEC’s Oil, Gas, and Chemical Optimization Solution for Outbound Bulk Distribution
Published on October 15, 2007
ORTEC and Basic Chemical Solutions, L.L.C. (BCS) announced the deployment of ORTEC’s Bulk Distribution Optimization Solution for two of BCS’s locations, Redwood City, CA and Morrisville, PA. Several other locations are planned for this year as well, as BCS implements the solution throughout North America and Western Europe.
ORTEC offers a solid and tested solution for bulk manufacturing and distribution companies, combining 25 years of implementation experience with a suite of proven solutions for downstream distribution optimization. ORTEC’s solutions help companies reduce transportation costs through increases in resource efficiencies, increases in load sizes, and the reduction in total miles driven while meeting and exceeding customer service metrics.
“The ORTEC solution has proven to meet all of our specifications for automated dispatch and has already yielded gains of over 4% productivity after only two months of use”, says Kurt Arnold, Process Excellence Manager for Basic Chemical Solutions. “When making our selection, the ORTEC solution was preferred by our dispatchers for ease of use. This is proving to be invaluable to the quick and successful adoption by our operations team.”
“Basic Chemical Solutions is a strategic account for ORTEC, as the constraints involved in chemical distribution with multi-compartment vehicles highlight the complexity our solution supports”, says Andy Berry, Vice President, Industry Operations at ORTEC. “BCS went through an extensive evaluation of our solution before selecting and deploying to operations to ensure we could model their business processes and provide measurable value.”
