Boltjes wants to cut time to market with ORTEC production planning tool

Pipe manufacturer Boltjes wants to cut its time to market by deploying ORTEC’s planning tool PLANWISE for its production schedule. Boltjes has selected PLANWISE because it improves the company’s control over its schedule. The result: more efficient deployment of its resources and more effective management of its stock level. Because of the strong fluctuations in the price of raw materials, it is important to Boltjes that stocks remain as low as possible.
In spite of its low stocks, Boltjes wants to continue to be a flexible supplier for its customers. “The customer calls and we produce,” explained Logistics Manager Philip Panjer. “Our delivery periods are currently approximately six weeks, while the customer expects delivery within two to three weeks. Consequently, we hope that PLANWISE will enable us to reduce these periods to three weeks.”
Real-time and multi-user
“It was important to us that PLANWISE could be implemented in real time and for multiple users. This enables us to adapt the production process as required by the customer and provide more regular updates regarding the status of orders in progress. Because PLANWISE is a multi-user system, the same planning screen can be displayed in Czech in the Czech Republic and in Dutch in The Netherlands.”
