Fortis selects ORTEC's ALM-software

Fortis has selected ORTEC as their provider of Asset Liability Management (ALM) software and is using the ORTEC software for its risk analysis as of April 1st. The ALM software also supports the various Fortis retirement plans in formulating their long-term strategy. Fortis decided to purchase the ALM software licenses after a successful pilot project at Fortis Bank in the Netherlands. Initially, Fortis will use the ALM software for its Dutch pension plans only.

Together Fortis’ Dutch pension plans manage more than 4 billion Euros in assets. The advanced scenario analysis techniques used in ORTEC’s ALM software allow Fortis to gain a comprehensive insight into its current and expected funding ratio. Analyses of the different scenarios also supports the Retirement Board in formulating effective long-term strategies.

Furthermore, Fortis will start another project to evaluate if and how the ALM software can be used for its Belgian pension funds as well. This project should be completed by the end of the summer.
