Dutch advice for Swedish state pension

Published on December 23, 2003

The Dutch consultancy firms Towers Perrin and ORTEC have been elected to function as strategic advisors for the Swedish state pension fund Första AP-Fonden. January 2004 parties will be signing a general agreement. Although the assignments need to be further defined, Towers Perrin and ORTEC will mainly focus on the investment strategy of AP1.

In October ORTEC and Towers Perrin’s Asset Consultancy Services have presented themselves to AP1 in Stockholm as one joint party with a variety of specialties. Within the co-operation ORTEC will particularly focus on ALM-studies, risk and performance measurement, to support developing and monitoring the investment policy of the fund. In addition, Towers Perrin has developed a very flexible and client oriented procedure in selecting the desired investment managers for pension funds. Also, in the field of alternatives, Towers Perrin has established specific global knowledge in particular with regard to hedge funds and private equity.

Both Towers Perrin and ORTEC are proud being elected. AP1 is one of four Swedish state buffer funds.
